A new way to use our PowerPURLs

The sales team here have been following up with quite a few people recently as what normal sales reps do.  The common theme around our group discussions have been how frustrating it is to get that foot through the door.  The people they are trying to get a hold of are all who expressed interest in our company and product in the past, but to get them to sit down, look at their calendar, and commit to a time/date for a demo or follow up conversation has been painful.

With the recent launch of our PowerPURLs, we came up with an idea for these prospects.  Now you may ask what the heck is the difference between a PowerPURL and a regular personalized url.  Well, we go beyond just matching a look and feel or just switching around the syntax of how the purl is created.  We’ve had customers ask if they can have firstnamelastname.companyname.com instead of companyname.com/firstnamelastname and our sales guys just blow them away.  That’s so easy for us it hasn’t even been a part of our Marketing.  What we do is actually create dynamic web pages based on the data and business rules, just like how we do personalized direct mail.

In our case, we came up with a SIMPLE example and executed it the day after the idea was born.  How quickly can other companies execute ideas like these?  We can up with a plan where each sales representative could write a personal note to their prospects.  Then, we created a PowerPURL so that each prospect can be sent an email or a phone call that said go to your purl firstnamelastname.salesPURL.com and schedule a demo.  On the PowerPURL, the note references previous conversations and contains a variable image of a handwritten signature depending on the appropriate sales representative.

Once the prospect has hit the PowerPURL, they see a few simple fields of prepopulated contact info that could be edited, a field for a demo date preference, and a field for a time.  As soon as the prospects hit the submit button, the sales representatives receive an email notification with the demo time/date preference.  Voila, and the demo has been scheduled!
