Using the Web Just a Bit Differently

It’s true that email marketing can be construed as spam; However I think we are taking the time to think about how we want to do this effectively.  If we have a strong compelling offer, and have a concise & graphical way of presenting ourselves, I’m sure a lot of people will appreciate the effort we put into our Marketing.  Our emails will contain that personalized url and for those who have received a poster from us before with the purl will appreciate the ties between our multichannel marketing.  I doubt if other companies marketing through emails alone are quite as effective but we can only test the various strategies and measure the results over a period of time to see what really works for us.

We do have the capability to link with any outside email company but we haven’t really talked about our internal useage of the email side of Fuse.  Recently, we found that the way we set up our web pages, if someone fills out their information and comes back to revisit, we only save their last session so the data from the first session doesn’t get saved.  Lesson learned there, we’ll definitely think about that the next time we set up another such survey page.  We were really fortunate that because we set up an internal email notification system, all that data from the first session was emailed to the salesteam and put into Salesforce so even tho the data was no longer in Fuse, we didn’t lose it after all.  It was all in Salesforce and backed up with emails, PHEW!

The process is fairly smooth now, the subject line will say Lead, then the name of the campaign, the company name, and the date since we reuse campaign concepts.  In the body of the email, it will show the name of the person, company name, contact information, and which links they hit on their purl.  If we include a survey, that information would be captured as well we even have special fields for that information in Salesforce now.

Customers tend to hesitate when asked for a case study since they feel like they are giving their own secret sauce away.  Hopefully this will be a stronger demonstration by showing people our own effort into taking risks with our creativity and our strategic ways of managing the results.
