As time progresses, we’re slowly starting to build our knowledge of the web as well as build our online marketing momentum. Last week a majority of our time was spent creating and researching web elements. Some of the elements we developed include: a template attached to a form for a website landing page, web analytics, an e-mail marketing layout, and new product launch pages. Throughout the process of researching and developing our web marketing, we learned that there are a few advantages and one big disadvantage to marketing on the web.
Advantages of web marketing:
1. Measurable
2. Flexible
3. Affordable
Disadvantage of web marketing:
1. E-mail marketing or web advertisements can be perceived as spam
In order to prevent any perception of spam, we need to be sure that the content we send is relevant to our contacts. We can avoid this problem by allowing people to fill out their information voluntarily using the web landing page on our corporate website. Once we’ve collected relevant information from people who are interested in our product, we can begin to follow-up with relevant e-mail marketing. Our marketing intern, Ryan has been able to track visitors to our website using our web analytics tool. After analyzing the results, he determined that we’ve been getting an increasing amount of clicks from all over the country.
In addition to using the web as a tool for lead acquisition, we’re also using the web for customer retention. For our existing customers, we spent time dressing up the user-interface launch pages so interaction with our platform will continue to be a fun experience.
