Jeanniey Mullen at ClickZ shares some tools she’s been introduced to for use in email marketing efforts. After presenting her list o’ links (near the bottom), she says:
Even if these are technologies that have been around in some form or another for years, these types of technologies and offerings give us hope that even our wildest and craziest e-mail contact strategies and engagement efforts can be realized.
More and more often, the question is less "can I do it" and more "should I do it - does this fit my customers’ needs?"
Before adopting any new tool, think about how it will fit in with your current strategy, how you plan to use it and how your customer will want to use it (or not). Vaguing up an example to protect the innocent: as I was reading the home page of one of the listed technology providers, I immediately thought about how irritating I, as a consumer, would find the depicted technology if it were used improperly. Shortly afterwards, however, I thought of a couple of ways in which it could be beneficial to me - as that same consumer.
So, have a browse through Jeanniey’s links and have a good "gee whiz, that’s cool" moment. If you wish, share here how you think some of these can be used to help your own customers.
