While it may seem that this is very close to "l33t" speak, most of this was developed in the early 1900’s, and involved folks like Teddy Roosevelt and Andrew Carnegie.
'Simplified Spelling' is supposed to be phonetic which, as a concept, I'm not opposed to - except I don't want to learn a new way to spell.
I'm proud of being able to spell ridiculous words with utterly inconsistent rules.
In its defense, I was able to read it with relative ease in about five minutes.
Such is not the case with l33t. I can't figure out that hash for love nor money.
